Incident Summary – Day Shift  – Friday 11th January

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 A19, Riccall - Time of call 07:33

Fire crews from York & Selby attended a 3 vehicle road traffic collision. One male driver was trapped in a vehicle by a foot injury. Crews provided initial first aid and removed the doors using hydraulic cutting equipment. The male was transported to hospital via road ambulance.

 Church Lane, Bagby – Time of call 08:10

Northallerton and Thirsk attended a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Ford Transit van on its side. The male driver of the vehicle was out of the vehicle and injured. Crews were not needed at the scene.

Darlington Road, Northallerton – Time of call 08:47

Appliances from Northallerton and Ripon were mobilised to a road traffic collision between 2 Ford Fiesta. A female driver of 1 of the vehicles was still on the car when crews arrived and was assessed by paramedics before walking out of the vehicle and being taken to hospital via road ambulance for precautionary checks. Crews disconnected the car battery and made the scene safe using a steering wheel airbag protector.

St Stephens Close, Skipton – Time of call 11:25

Skipton assisted the ambulance service in gaining entry to a residential property where a 88 year male had fallen. Crews gained access using a lock snapper and left the casualty in the hands of the paramedics.

Scalby Road, Scarborough – Time of call 13:05

Scarborough attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential address, this was a false alarm caused by water leaking into the detector head.

Rudding Lane, Harrogate – Time of call 13:48

 A crew from Harrogate attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and a van. No occupants of the vehicles were trapped, crews assisted by clearing debris from the carriageway and making the scene safe. The drivers of both vehicles were checked over as a precaution by paramedics.

Common Lane, Burn – Time of call 13:51

 Selby attended a fire consisting of 10 household fridges that had been set alight deliberately, crews used 1 hose reel jet and pitchforks to extinguish the fire.

Blubberhouses Moor, Blubberhouses – Time of call 15:48

Summerbridge were sent to investigate reports of smoke seen on moorland. Crews confirmed this was a false alarm caused by controlled burner under supervision.
