Incident Summary Monday 1st October Day Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Monday 1st October Day Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Junction of Rudding Lane and Panel Road, Follifoot – time of call: 09.13

An appliance from Harrogate attended a Vauxhall Corsa leaking radiator fluid following a road traffic collision onto the road. Crews used Drizit pads, a shovel and a brush to make the scene safe.

Hemingbrough, Selby – time of call: 11.24

Selby crew attended controlled burning out of control resulting in 8 conifer bushes catching fire, crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was accidental.

Weeland Road, Eggborough – time of call: 13.36

Selby crew attended an automatic fire alarm at a industrial premise, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by dust from workmen.

A59 Goldsborough & Knaresborough Roundabout – time of call: 15.26

Appliances from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision between a Ford Fiesta and a Skip Wagon. 1 female driver in her 80s of the Fiesta was aided by both fire service and ambulance crews in walking out of the vehicle. Crews used bolt croppers and ratchet strap. All other casualties were out on arrival with minor injuries.

A59 Kexgill – time of call: 15.28

Summerbridge appliances attended reports of smoke seen in the area. This turned out to be controlled burning of heather, no action taken by the fire brigade.

Millennium Bridge, York – time of call: 16.56

York attended a small grass fire under Millennium Bridge, crews used 1 bucket of water to extinguish the fire. It is believed this was caused deliberately.
