Incident Summary Day Shift Wednesday 25th March 2020 


In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred: 


Time: 07:56 

Location: Falsgrave Road, Scarborough 

2 appliances from Scarborough attended a chip pan fire in a domestic property. The fire was confined to the pan and out on arrival. Crews assisted by placing a fire blanket over the pan and removed it to fresh air. 


Time: 08:06 

Location: South Street, Scarborough 

An appliance from Scarborough attended an automatic fire alarm at a block of flats, this was a false alarm caused by a system fault. 


Time: 08:12 

Location: Thorpe Underwood 

Acomb attended an automatic fire alarm at a school, this was a false alarm caused by testing. 


Time: 09:07 

Location: Norton, Malton 

Crews fromMalton and Pickering responded to reports of a smell of burning inside a residential building. After an investigation this was found to be caused by paper in a hot toaster. Crews gave advice to the occupant.  



Location: Lancaster Park Road, Harrogate 

Harrogate attended an automatic fire alarm at a hospital building, this was found to be a false alarm caused by a malicious activation of a break glass point. 


Time: 10:49 

Location: Kettlesing Head 

Harrogate attended an automatic fire alarm at an industrial unit, this was found to be a false alarm caused by a system maintenance.  


Time: 14:38 

Location: Kelfield, Selby 

Selby were mobilsied to reports of a fire in the open. This was found to be controlled burning by a farmer, due to large amounts of smoke in the area crews extinguished the fire using knapsacks, pitchforks, beaters and shovels.  


Time: 16:36 

Location: Aysgarth 

Hawes are in attendance at a chimney fire at a domestic property – crews are using 9m ladder, roof ladder, hose reel, chimney rods and a thermal imaging camera. **this incident is still ongoing** 


Time: 16:59 

Location: Anchorage Lane, Northallerton 

Northallerton extinguished an unattended bonfire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet at this incident.
