Incident Summary - Day shift Tuesday 24th July

24th July 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Ingleton, Carnforth

Time of call 08:34

Fire crews from Bentham responded to reports of an automatic fire alarm, on arrival crews confirmed this was a pan that had been left unattended and caused smoke. Fire was out on arrival of crews. Crews ventilated the property.

Crackpot, Richmond

Time of call 08:55

Reeth fire crews attended a fire in the open, this was a bonfire under good supervision. Crews left incident with farmer.

A19 North Bound near East Rounton

Time of call 09:02

Fire crews from Northallerton responded to reports of a truck on fire. On arrival crews confirmed this was a false alarm and steam from overheated brakes.

Strensall Comon, Strensall

Time of call 09:17

Fire crews from Huntington responded to a small fire in the open. This was out on arrival but crews used knapsack sprayers to damp down hot spots.

Richmond crews attended an automatic smoke alarm activation, this was a false alarm caused by maintenance work being carried out.

Harrogate. Knaresborough and Boroughbridge crews attended a fire involving a large pile of rubble. Cause of the fire was a spread from a previous fire in a demolished garage. Crews used a hose reel and left incident with site owner.

Porritt Lane, Scarborough

Scarborough fire crew responded to a fire involving a Nissan van. The cause of the fire is believed to have been electrical. Car completely destroyed by fire. Two breathing apparatus and two hose reels used

A63, Lumby

Time of call 12:20

Fire crew from Selby attended a small pile of rubbish on fire consisting of garden waste. Cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Crews used one hose reel jet.

Bishopwood Tracks, Cawood.

Time of call 12:54

Tadcaster and Selby responded to fire in a large amountof undergrowth. Crews used two main jets, beater, knapsacks and shovels to extinguish the fire.


Time of call 13:44

Ripon fire crews responded to some grass on fire. Cause of fire is unknown. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish the fire

Askham Lane, York

Time of call 15:49

Acomb and York responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped. Fire Service not required.

Yafforth Road, Northallerton

Time of call 16:47

Fire crew from Northallerton responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. No people were trapped. One car was on fire and crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet. The fire caused 25% fire damage.
