Incident summary for Nightshift 02 June 2018

Incident Summary Night Shift Saturday 2nd June 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

A1M Southbound Junc 49 Dishforth

Time of call: 18:10

A crew from Ripon attended a single vehicle road traffic collision involving the vehicle on its roof. On arrival, single occupant was out on arrival and crews treated them using first aid before transferring them into care of ambulance.

Prospect Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 18:24 

A crew from Scarborough investigated reports of a fire in a garden off Prospect Road. Crews found this to be a false alarm and no fire was found.

Limestone Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 19:54

A crew from Scarborough and FIley have responded to reports of an road traffic collision involving a car that has struck a tree. Crews extricated one casualty using hydraulic cutting gear before transferring them into the car of the ambulance service. They were transported to hospital via air suffering major trauma injuries.

St Helen’s Square, York

Time of call: 21:16

A crew from York and Acomb have attended reports of a fire on the 1st floor of a commercial premise. Crews found that the fire was out on arrival and caused due to water getting into the light switches. Crews inspected the premise and isolated the electrics.

Musham Bank Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 21:18

A crew from Pickering and Malton have attended reports of a barn fire. On arrival crews found 3 small fires within a derelict building. Crews extinguished the fires using a hose reel jet.


Time of call: 21:28

A crew from Easingwold have attended reports of flooding affecting a number of properties. Crews used the main fire appliance pump and a light portable pump to remove water  away from properties. Crews gave advice to prevent further flooding.


Throughout the shift fire appliances also responded to fire alarm activations in Acomb (x3), Ripon, Tadcaster and Richmond. All which were false alarms.
