Incident summary for Nightshift 11 June 2018

11th June 2018

TOC 1844 – Scarborough Area

Crews were called to a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles. Upon arrival crews found 1 person trapped in their vehicle. Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the person from the vehicle, who was then attended to by ambulance crews.

TOC 1858 – Scarborough Area

Crews were called to reports of a fire in a residential property. Upon arrival crews found all persons accounted for and out of the building on arrival. 1 casualty was attended to by paramedics.

Crews used breathing apparatus and hose reels to extinguish the fire. Fire Officers will perform further safety visits.

TOC 1911 – Scarborough Area

Crews were called to a fire in the open. Crews arrived to find a rubbish bin on fire. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish the bin fire.

TOC 1955 – Skipton Area

Crews were called to a small fire in the open. Upon investigation crews found an aerosol can which had been set alight and had already been extinguished.

TOC 1955 – Skipton Area

Crews were called to assist a member of the public who was unable to exit their vehicle due to disability. Crews assisted the person to exit the vehicle and make their way into their home.

TOC 2333 – Hutton Rudby Area

Crews were called to reports of smoke in a residence. Upon investigation crews found that a chair had caught light and was already out on arrival. The fire was believed to have been caused by an unattended cigarette. All persons were accounted for.  Crews used breathing apparatus and foam extinguisher equipment to ensure that the fire was thoroughly extinguished, prior to ventilating the property.  

TOC 0512 – Foss Islands Road, York

York firecrew responded to a report of a commercial wheelie bin on fire which was extinguished by a hosereel, the cause being attributed to a discarded cigarette.   



False Alarms:

Crews were called to multiple false alarms throughout the course of night duty.
