Incident Summary – Night Shift – 24thMay 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

 

Scarborough

Time of call: 17:39

A crew from Scarborough were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by fumes from burnt cooking.

 

A19, York

Time of call 18:16

A crew from York were called to a report of a car with smoke emitting from the engine. This was a false alarm and was caused by an overheated engine.

 

Lombards Wynd, Richmond

Time of call: 20:16

A crew from Richmond were called to a fire to a pile of wood. This was believed to have been set deliberately and crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish this.

 

Newby, Scarborough

Time of call: 20:35

A crew from Scarborough were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.  

 

Earswick, York

Time of call: 21:05

A crew from Huntington were called to a fire in a wooded area. This was a small fire involving a tree stump which was extinguished using a knapsack sprayer.

 

Lilac Walk, Scarborough

Time of call: 21:47

A crew from Scarborough were called to flooding in a property that was affecting electrics of a smoke detector. Crews ensure leak was isolated and fitted a new smoke alarm.

 

Stanhope Drive, Harrogate

Time of call: 21:51

A crew from Harrogate were called to a fire in a domestic garden. Crews extinguished this using a hose reel jet.

 

Walmgate, York

Time of call: 22:13

A crew from York were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. This was a false alarm caused by an accidental activation of the manual call point.

 

 

St Nicholas Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 22:31

 

A crew from Scarborough were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. This was a false alarm believed to be caused by a fault on the system.

 

 

Grey Hill Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 22:42

 

Crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon along with an Officer were in attendance at a fire to a derelict building of two storeys measuring approximately 30m x 10m. Crews extinguished this using main jets, hose reel jets and the aerial ladder platform.

 

Danebury Drive, Acomb

Time of call: 01:27

A crew from Acomb were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. This was a false alarm caused by vapour from an electronic cigarette.
