Incident Summary Tuesday 22th May Night Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Tuesday 22th May Day Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Piccadilly, York TOC: 18:09

A persons was released from a lift by our York crew after becoming trapped inside. The crews used lift keys and the person was released unharmed.

Thorpe Willoughby, Selby TOC: 18:39

A van was on fire a road near Thorpe Willoughby. A crew from Selby extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus. The fire is believed to have started from an electrical fault.

Battalion Court, Colburn TOC: 19:07

A wheelie bin containing card board was on fire at an industrial estate. A crew from Colburn extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.

Forest Springs Park, Harrogate TOC: 19:11

A small amount of grass cuttings had been set alight in a park. The fire is believed to have been caused deliberately. A crew from Harrogate attended and extinguished the fire.

Tadcaster TOC: 19:38

A wheelie bin and two fence panels near to it were on fire outside a property in Tadcaster. A crew from Tadcaster attended and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and small tools. The area was checked with a thermal image camera also. The cause is believed to be accidental.

Thirsk TOC: 20:00

A small bonfire was unsupervised in the open. Crews from Thirsk and Northallerton attended and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

Skipton TOC: 20:51

A fire was reported in Skipton, but a crew from Skipton attended and confirmed that this was a controlled domestic waste with the owner in attendance.


In addition to the above incidents our Fire crews attended automatic fire alarm calls in Harrogate, York, Skipton and Acomb.  All were false alarms.
