Incident Summary –Night Shift– Thursday 21st November 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 17:20

Location: Woodlands Ravine, Scarborough

Crews from Filey & Scarborough attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision between a Ford Transit and Fiat Panda. Male driver of Ford was not trapped or injured, female driver of Fiat was released by crews through the car boot. Female was taken to hospital via road ambulance as a precautionary measure. Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment, stabilisation, small tools and IEC pack at this incident.

Location: Carleton, Skipton

An appliance from Skipton extinguished a Skoda Fabia on fire. The fire caused significant fire damage to the engine compartment of the vehicle and crews extinguished it using 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and hydraulic spreaders. The cause of the fire is believed to be a mechanical fault.

Location: Manor Road, Scarborough

Scarborough extinguished a small rubbish fire within a shed at a bowling club. Crews used buckets of water at this incident.

Time: 20:54

Location: Eastfield, Scarborough

Scarborough & Filey crews were mobilised to reports of a fire in a bathroom of a domestic property. On arrival crews confirmed the fire was out and caused damage to a window frame. Crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera.

Time: 21:09

Location: Masham

Masham attended a chimney fire at a public house. Crews extinguished the fire, removed the fire surround to check for hotspots and gave advice to the owner. A chimney kit, salvage sheets, thermal imaging camera and small tools were used at this incident. The cause of the fire was due to excessive fire loading and an accumulation of soot.

Location: North Duffield, Selby

Selby were mobilised to report of a chimney fire in a domestic property. On arrival crews confirmed the fire had self extinguished, inspected the chimney and gave advice to the occupant. A thermal imaging and inspection cameras were used at this incident. The cause of the fire was due to an accumulation of soot.

Location: Feasegate, York

York extinguished 2 rubbish bags on fire in the entrance to a shop. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera at this incident.

Time: 23:04

Location: Coney Street, York

York extinguished a commercial wheelie bin on fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera at this incident.

 

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service attended a number of automatic fire alarms across the county in Scarborough, Harrogate, Selby, Acomb and York. These were all false alarms.
