Incident Summary Thursday 4th October Night Shift


Please see below a round up of incidents from Thursday 4th October Night Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.


Marston Crescent, York – time of call: 17.50

Acomb crew attended 10m of garden fence that caught fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area. It is believed the fire was caused accidentally.

 Portholme Road, Selby – time of call: 19.21

An appliance from our Selby station attended an unattended bonfire consisting of cut trees and bushes. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

Wigginton Road, York – time of call: 20.53

York attended a rubbish fire on a children playpark set alight deliberately. The crew used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Skutterskelfe – time of call: 21.11

Stokesley crew attended a fire to a ornamental fire place within a residential property. The fire was out on arrival, crews ventilated the property and gave advice to the occupier. The cause of the fire was accidental.

Chapel Street, Thirsk – time of call: 22.15

Thirsk appliance were sent to reports of a wheelie bin on fire to the rear of a business premises. The fire was out on arrival as extinguished by a member of the public. Crews carried out an inspection only. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Middleham, Hawes – time of call 23.02

Leyburn attended an automatic fire alarm, this was a false alarm caused by cigarette smoke.
