Incident Bulletin Nightshift 24th November

25th November 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 18:06  Barlby Road, Selby

 Crews from Selby were called to reports of a building on fire in this location. On arrival no fire was found and it was believed to be a false alarm good intent from steam passing through orange lights.

 18:06  A169, Fylingdales

 Crews from Pickering, Whitby and Goatland along with an officer were called to a single vehicle road traffic collision. All occupants were out of vehicle on arrival and in care of paramedics. Crews made vehicle safe and cleared debris in order for road to reopen.

18:37  Clifon On Yore

 A crew from Masham were sent to a chimney fire at a residential property. The fire was confined to the flue and crews extinguished using a hose reel, chimney nozzle, 9 meter ladder and roof ladder.

 19:13  Kelfield, Selby

 Two crews from Selby and an officer were called to reports of a road traffic collision. No action taken by Fire Service occupants of vehicle in hands of Paramedics.

 20:29 Ouse Bank, Selby

 Crews from Selby were sent to a fire in a derelict barn, on arrival crews discovered a tyre burning within an open ended barn. Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel and breathing apparatus. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.

 00:58  Second Avenue, York

 Crews from York station attended a chimney fire on the above road. Crews extinguished the fire using hearth kit.

 04:31   Osbaldwick, York

Crews from York and Acomb attended a fire at a property. The occupants had extinguished the fire prior to the arrival of the fire service using buckets of water. The fire caused 100% smoke damage to the bedroom of the property and 50% smoke damage to the 1st floor. Crews administered oxygen therapy to the occupants who had suffered smoke inhalation, paramedics checked them over on scene but did not attend hospital.

Fire crews from Harrogate & Knaresborough have also attended automatic fire alarms which have activated in various locations. All of these have been thoroughly investigated and found to be false alarms.
