Incident Summary – Day Shift – Friday 5th October

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

False alarm – Thistle Close, Selby

Time of call: 0916 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty smoke detector.

False alarm – East Avenue, Easingwold

Time of call: 0945 hours

A crew from Easingwold has investigated reports of smoke in a domestic property. This was a false alarm. No fire at property. Smoke alarm had activated due to insects in the detector head. Advice given to occupier.

 False alarm – Gargrave Road, Skipton

Time of call: 1528 hours

A crew from Skipton has been called to reports of a VW Golf on fire. This was a false alarm due to an overheated felt engine block. No action taken by fire crew.

False alarm – Hungate, York

Time of call: 1645 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause. System reset by residents prior to our arrival.
