Incident Summary –DayShift Saturday 20th June
In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:
Location: Harmby, Leyburn
Our Leyburn crews assisted the police with an oil spillage on the carriageway using drizzit pads.
Location: Preston-Under-Scar, Leyburn
Crews from Leyburn, Reeth, Richmond and Colburn responded to reports of haybales on fire inside a barn. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, two main jets, a thermal imaging camera and small gear. The cause is believed to have been accidental.
Crews from Acomb and Huntington responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm due to a water leak into a smoke detector.
Our Ripon crew responded to reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a believed faulty smoke detector.
Crews from Selby, Tadcaster and neighbouring brigade Snaith responded to reports of a glider that had crashed near to the airfield. The crews extricated the male from the glider using cutting equipment before paramedics took him to hospital.
