Incident Summary Day Shift Tuesday 27th November 2018

27th November 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Main Street, Welburn Time of call:07:53
A crew from Malton came across a vehicle that had been involved in a collision. The crew  assisted with traffic control and used cones to make the area safe until the arrival of the police.

Sandsend Time of call: 07:55
Crews from Lythe and Whitby were called to report of smoke sighted that was believed to be coming from a building. This was a false alarm and was a bonfire in a garden.

Haxby Road, York Time of call: 09:55
A crew from York were called to a vehicle on fire caused by an electrical fault. The crews used 2 sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish this.

Main Street, Thornton le Moor Time of call: 09:59
A crew from Northallerton were called to a fire in the open. This was a false alarm as it was controlled burning,

Market Place, Hawes Time of call: 11:19

A crew from Hawes and Leyburn were called to female involved in a collision with a vehicle. Crews used air bags and chocks to lift the vehicle. The female was taken to hospital via road ambulance.

Chapel Lane, Horton in Ribblesdale Time of call: 11:25

A crew from Bentham were called to a chimney on fire. Crews used hearth kit and hose reel to extinguish this and a 13.5 metre ladder to inspect the chimney pot.

 Station Road, Wharram le Street Time of call: 11:29
A crew from Malton were called to a vehicle on fire. This caused 100% fire damage to the engine compartment and was caused by an electrical fault. Crews used 1 hose reel and a set of breathing apparatus to extinguish this.

Mayfield Road, Whitby Time of call: 11:53

Crews from Whitby and Lythe were called to a fire in a residential property. This was a fire to  an extractor fan in the kitchen caused by an electrical fault. This was extinguished using 2 sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel.

Skipton Road, Harrogate Time of call:13:55

A crew from Harrogate removed rings from two people who came to the station for removal. A ring cutter was used to remove these.

York Road, Acomb Time of call: 14:25
Crews from York and Acomb were called to a report of a two vehicle traffic collision were it was unknown if people were trapped. On arrival no one was trapped in the vehicles and crews assisted the police with scene safety.

We also attended to Automatic Fire Alarm activations in York . These were all false alarms.
