Incident Summary Day Shift Tuesday 9th October 2018

9th October 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

White Hills Lane, Stirton, Skipton

Time of call:  08:54

A crew from Skipton were called to what was believed to be a fire in the open. This was controlled burning with the owner in attendance. No action was taken by Fire Service.

B1224, Rufforth, York  

Time of call: 09:49

Crews from York and Acomb were called to refuse truck on fire. This was a fire to the engine compartment extinguished using a dry powder extinguisher and checked with a thermal imaging camera. The cause was unknown.

West Harlsey

Time of call: 12:39

Crews from Northallerton and Ripon were in attendance at an incident involving a grain dryer that was issuing smoke. After removing the grain from the dryer and checking this with a thermal imaging camera the crews found this was a false alarm.

Stillingfleet Lane, Escrick

Time of call: 15:30

Crews from York, Huntington and Tadcaster along with Tadcaster’s Incident Support Unit attended to a male with his leg trapped in a potato harvesting machine. Crews freed the male and left him in the care of the ambulance service.

We also attended automatic fire alarm activations in York. These were false alarms.
