Incident Summary Night Shift 16th November 2019  

 

 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

 

 

ScarboroughTime of call 17:43

 

Crew from Scarborough were mobilised to a report of an unsafe stone bell tower on top of a building. Crews made a temporary structural restraint to secure the tower as an interim measure. The incident was left in the hands of Highways agency who were restricting public access to the area.

 

 

 

EasingwoldTime of call 18:23

 

Crews from Acomb and Easingwold were mobilised to a report of a fire in a small log basket, in a residential property. The fire had been extinguished prior to the fire service arrival. Crews used small tools and the Dewalt saw to remove floorboards to check for hot spots and confirm no further fire spread. One male suffering with smoke inhalation was left in the hands of ambulance crews.

 

 

 

HuntingtonTime of call 22:08

 

Crews from Easingwold, Huntington and Acomb were mobilised to a possible roof fire following a report of smoke sighted coming from a building. On arrival crews found this to be a false alarm due to steam coming from a boiler.

 

 

 

MaltonTime of call 22:16

 

Crews from Malton were mobilised to a report of a single vehicle RTC. Crews administered first aid to one male whilst awaiting the arrival of ambulance crews. The casualty then travelled to hospital via road ambulance. Crews made the vehicle safe.

 

 

 

YorkTime of call 22:24

 

Crew from York were mobilised to a report of a male stuck in a toilet. Crews used small tools and crew power to release the male from the toilet.

 

 

 

RiponTime of call 00:03

 

Crews from Ripon were mobilised to a report of a single vehicle RTC. On arrival crews found one female had self-extricated from the vehicle whilst another was still trapped. Crews used hydraulic cutting gear to remove the vehicles roof before using a spine board to extricate the casualty. Both casualties travelled to hospital via road ambulance.

Crew from York were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a commercial property, this was a false alarm.

 

 

 

Skipton – Time of call: 02:39

 

2 Skipton crews have dealt with a touring caravan on fire. Caravan and contents were totally destroyed. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, ceiling hooks and a thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 

 

 

York – Time of call 02:45

 

A crew from York has dealt with a car fire involving a small hatchback style car. Vehicle was totally destroyed by fire. Crew used 1 hosereel jet to extinguish. Cause believed to be deliberate.

 

 

 

Skipton – Time of call 03:02

 

A crew from Grassington has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property on Brougham Street. This was a false alarm due to a system fault.

 

 

 

York – Time of call 05:05

 

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property on Wigginton Road. This was a false alarm due to manual activation of a call point.

 

 

 

Hutton Le Hole – Time of call 05:25

 

A crew from Kirkbymoorside has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was believed to be a false alarm due to an unknown fault.

 

 

 

Haxby – Time of call 05:42

 

A crew from Huntington has dealt with a shed fire on an allotment. 100% fire damage to shed and contents. Crew used 1 hosereel and lighting. The cause is believed to be deliberate.
