Incident Summary - Night Shift Friday 14th August 2020

Incident Summary NightShift – Friday 14thAugust 2020. 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 



Victoria Road, Richmond 

Time of call: 14:31 

A crew from Richmond attended initial reports of a fire at a commercial garage. On arrival crews requested a further eight appliances and aerial ladder platformsupport. This incident began to scale back at approximately 21:30 hours but crews from Richmond and Colburn have remained on scene. 



Time of call: 19:40 

A crew from Knaresborough who were covering over at Richmond station responded to reports of an automated fire alarm in the Catterick area. On arrival this turned out to be a false alarm caused by a drop in water pressure to the sprinkler system. 


Glusburn, Keighley 

Time of call: 20:51 

Crew from Skipton responded to an automated fire alarm at a residential property in the Glusburn area. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes. 


Ousegate, Selby 

Time of call: 23:02 

Crew from Selby responded to an automated fire alarm at a residential premises. On arrival this turned out to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes. 


Royal Parade, Harrogate 

Time of call: 23:42 

Crew from Harrogate responded to a call from 2 females who had become stuck in a corridor after the key to a flat they had rented for the night would not work and the main door to the building would also not allow them back out. The crew were able to free the ladies and help them gain access to the apartment that had a broken lock. 


Woodlands Road, Rillington 

Time of Call: 02:01 

Crews from Malton responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car that had crashed firstly into a parked vehicle and then a tree. Crews worked to make the scene safe. 


Tang hall, York 

Time: 02:46 

Crews from York responded to reports of a female trapped in a bedroom due to door mechanism breaking. Crews used ladders to gain entry and small tools to open the door and release the female. 


Boston Spa, Wetherby 

Time: 03:27 

Crews from Tadcaster responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a public assembly building. They assisted neighbouring brigade’s appliance Wetherby. This resulted in a false alarm due to a system fault.
