Incident Summary - Night Shift Saturday 25th January

Incident Summary Night Shift 25thJanuary 2020

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

AcombTime of call 18:20

Crew from Acomb were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a residential property, this was a false alarm caused by accidental activation of a call point.

Murton, YorkTime of call 18:30

Crews from Huntington, York, Acomb, Selby, Tadcaster and Scarborough were mobilised to a report of a fire in an industrial building measuring 20x30m and containing a number of separate units. Fire, heat and smoke damage to main unit, flatbed truck, roof and adjacent units. Crews used 2 ground monitors, 1 large jet, 1 hose reel, thermal imaging camera, forcible entry tools and 2 breathing apparatus. The incident remains open for a revisit this morning by a Fire Investigation Officer to establish the cause.

KnaresboroughTime of call 19:23

Crew from Knaresborough were requested by Ambulance crews to assist with gaining entry to a property where an elderly female had fallen and was unable to get to the door. Crew used small tools to gain access and left the female in the hands of the ambulance crew.

HuntingtonTime of call 19:34

Crew from Malton were mobilised to a report of a fire seen in the yard of a farm. This was found to be a bonfire left unattended which was left to burn out.

Crew from Malton were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a commercial property, this was a false alarm caused by steam.

SkiptonTime of call 20:08

Crews from Skipton, Grassington, Keighley and Ilkley were mobilised to a serious 2 vehicle RTC along with Police and Ambulance crews.

BedaleTime of call 20:09

Crew from Bedale were mobilised to a report of a chimney fire in a residential property. Crews found the fire to be between the chimney and the flue liner caused by a faulty flue liner. Crews used thermal imaging camera and a squeezy bottle to extinguish the fire.

RiponTime of call 22:34

Crew from Ripon were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a residential property, this was a false alarm caused by aerosol.

YorkTime of call 23:06

Crew from York were mobilised to a report of an alarm activation at a residential property, this was a false alarm caused by a system fault.

TadcasterTime of call 00:06

Crew from Tadcaster and Garforth were mobilised to a report of a fire in a layby. This was found to be a small rubbish fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

High Bentham – Time of call: 0531 hours

A crew from Bentham has been called to a fire in the stairwell of a 3 storey residential property which has resulted in slight damage to the communal floor. Fire was out on our arrival. Crew carried out inspection only. Cause believed to be deliberate.
