Incident Summary – Night Shift Saturday 3rd November

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

False alarm – North Duffield

Time of call: 1703 hours

Selby crew investigated reports of a fire in the woods. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

False alarm – Hamilton Drive, York

Time of call: 1709 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated reports of an unsafe bonfire out of control. This was a false alarm due to a bonfire being supervised.

False alarm – Holtby

Time of call: 1715 hours

A crew from York has investigated reports of a fire in woods. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

False alarm – Woodville Terrace, Selby

Time of call: 1725 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to reports of an unsafe bonfire out of control. This was a false alarm due to a family bonfire under supervision.

Fire – Sherburn in Elmet       

Time of call: 1823 hours

Crews from Tadcaster and Selby have been called to a garden bonfire which spread to garden furniture, a garden fence and the exterior of a neighbours garage. The fire also spread to a 2nd neighbours fence and garage. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, thermal imaging camera and lighting. The cause is believed to be a bonfire out of control.

False alarm – East Rounton

Time of call: 1826 hours

A crew from Stokesley has investigated reports of a fire in the open. This was a false alarm due to a supervised bonfire.

Hedge fire – Strensall

Time of call: 1833 hours

A crew from Huntington has dealt with a 10m section of hedge on fire. Crew used 1 hose reel jet. The cause is believed to have been a firework.

Fire – Filey

Time of call: 1846 hours

Crews from Filey and Scarborough have dealt with a bonfire which spread to the external facia of a domestic garage. Crews used 1 hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and hand tools. The cause is believed to be a bonfire out of control.

Road traffic collision – A59, East Marton

Time of call: 1848 hours

2 crews from Skipton have been called to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. No persons trapped. No action taken by crews.

False alarm – Stanhope Drive, Harrogate

Time of call: 1848 hours

A crew from Harrogate has investigated reports of an unsafe bonfire out of control. This was a false alarm due to a bonfire being supervised. Advice given.

Small fire – Cridling Stubbs

Time of call: 1913 hours

A crew from Selby has been called to reports of a fire in the open. This was a small amount of waster straw on fire. Crew allowed fire to burn itself out.

False alarm – Broughton Road, Skipton

Time of call: 1937 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

False alarm – Whitby

Time of call: 1939 hours

A crew from Whitby has investigated reports of an unsafe bonfire out of control. This was a false alarm due to a bonfire being supervised.

Shed fire – off Poppleton Road, York

Time of call: 1939 hours

Crews from Acomb and Huntington have dealt with a shed fire at a domestic property. Fire and heat damage was caused to the contents of the shed and slight smoke damage to the shed roof. Crew used 1 hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and lighting. The cause is believed to be a rogue firework.

Tree fire – Beckfield Lane, York

Time of call: 1948 hours

A crew from York has been called to a conifer tree fire in the garden of a domestic property. Fire was out on our arrival. Crew carried out an inspection only. Cause believed to be due to a firework.

Fire – Carleton in Craven

Time of call: 1953 hours

2 crews from Skipton have been called to a bonfire which spread to an adjacent pile of logs close to a single storey building. Crews used 2 hose reel jets, 1 main jet and lighting. The cause is believed to be a bonfire out of control.

False alarm – Drax

Time of call: 2006 hours

A crew from Selby has been called to reports of a large bonfire producing thick black smoke due to the burning of  prohibited items. This was a false alarm. No hazardous material involved.

False alarm – Filey Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2059 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detector.

Road traffic collision – A61, Wormald Green

Time of call: 2259 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to assist Police following a road traffic collision. Crew provided lighting for Police and stood by for scene safety only.

False alarm – Thorpe Underwood

Time of call: 2313 hours

A crew from Boroughbridge has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

Time of call: 0334 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to assist Police following a road traffic collision. Crew used 1 hose reel. Incident left with Police.

False alarm – Seamer Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 0402 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

Moped fire – Sim Balk Lane, York

Time of call: 0613 hours

A crew from York has dealt with a moped on fire. Vehicle was totally destroyed by fire. Cause believed to be deliberate. Crew used dry powder extinguisher.
