Incident Summary - Night Shift Saturday 8th August 2020

Incident Summary NightShift – Saturday 8thAugust 2020. 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 

 

False alarm- Stockton lane, York 

Time of call: 17:17 

Crew from York responded to reports of a fire sighted in the Stockton lane area of York. On arrival this tuned out to be a false alarm caused by smoke from a BBQ. 

 

Fire in open- Selby 

Time of call: 17:46 

Crew from Selby responded to reports of a fire out of control in a back garden. On arrival the fire had already been extinguished using a garden hose. Crews checked over the area using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and damped down the area. 

 

Fire in open- Harrogate 

Time of call: 17:51 

Crew from Harrogate responded to reports of a fire started around the base of a tree in a wooded area. On arrival crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. 

 

False alarm- Stokesley 

Time of call: 18:08 

Crews from Northallerton and Coulby Newham responded to an automatic fire alarm at a residential property. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes. 

 

False alarm- Scarborough 

Time of call: 19:09 

Crew from Scarborough responded to an automatic fire alarm at a warehouse. This turned out to be a false alarm with the cause unknown. 

 

False alarm- York 

Time of call: 20:16 

Crew from Acomb responded to an automatic fire alarm at a premises in the York area. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by a fault on the system. 

 

Fire in open- Scarborough 

Time of call: 22:14 

Crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a fire on a field. On arrival crews found this to be a bonfire that had got out of control. They used backpack sprayers and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish. 

 

False alarm- Askham Richard 

Time of call: 00:10 

Crew from Acomb responded to an automatic fire alarm in Askham Richard. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by dust in the detector head.
