Incident Summary - Night Shift Sunday 24th June

Incident Summary –Night shift –Sunday 23rd June

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

 Small fire - Newton Road, Great Ayton

Time of call 18:09

Stokesley crew responded to a small fire in the woods. This was a camp fire left unattended. Crews extinguished fire using a hose reel.

 Animal rescue - Near Easingwold

Time of call 18:12

Fire crews from Easingwold rescued a cat stuck up a tree. Crews were requested to attend by the RSPCA, they used a triple extension ladder to save the cat and reunite with its owner.

 False alarm - Springfield Avenue, Harrogate

Time of call 20:45

Harrogate crews responded to a fire alarm sounding in a public property. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.

 Flat fire - Station Road, Thirsk

Time of call 20:46

Fire crews from Northallerton responded to a small fire in a flat caused by a pan left unattended. Fire was out on arrival and had caused smoke logging to property. The crews ventilated the property using a ventilation fan.

 House fire – off Whitefields Drive, Richmond

Time of call 22:01

Fire crews from Richmond, Colburn and Leyburn responded to house fire. The cause of the fire was a build up of lint inside a tumble dryer. The dryer was in the garage that was attached to the house. Crews extinguished fire using a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus and then removed the appliance outside. Fire damage to tumble dryer only.

 False alarm – off Scotton Road, Catterick Garrison

Time of call 22:15

Bedale crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a domestic property. This was a false alarm possibly caused by a bug in the detector head.

 Small fire - near Lady Edith’s Drive, Scarborough

Time of call 23:00

Scarborough fire crews extinguished a traffic cone that was on fire at the roadside. The cause is believed to be deliberate. Crews used a hose reel.

 Small fire – Brotherton

Time of call: 05:26

Crews from Selby & Castleford have attended a fire on an electrical transformer pole. West Yorks crew stood by until power company arrived. No action taken by North Yorks crew.
