Incident Summary – Night Shift Thursday 18th April

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Road traffic collision – Boroughbridge Road, Romanby

Time of call: 1635 hours

2 crews from Northallerton have dealt with a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a Toyota Auris and a Ford Fiesta. No persons trapped. Crew assisted a male out of the Fiesta and in to care of Ambulance personnel. Crew also made vehicle safe and assisted with scene safety. Chocks and blocks used.

False alarm – Dunslow Road, Eastfield

Time of call: 2000 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to accidental operation of the alarm system.

Malicious call – Woodfield Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 2006 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have been mobilised to reports of a house fire. This was a malicious call. No fire located.

False alarm – off Granville Street, Skipton

Time of call: 2135 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

Rescue – Ripon Road, Killinghall

Time of call: 2222 hours

A crew from Harrogate has rescued a male who became stuck in a ground floor bathroom window after losing his house key. Crew used lighting and a screwdriver to rescue the male who was unharmed. Police also attended.

Kitchen fire – College Road, Ripon

Time of call: 2321 hours

A crew from Ripon has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. On arrival, the crew discovered a pan of burnt food in the kitchen. Fire damage to pan and contents and smoke logging to the property. The fire was out on our arrival but a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke from the property. The cause is believed to be a pan left unattended.

Fire - Ruffin Lane, Eddlethorpe

Time of call: 0039 hours

A crew from Malton has dealt with a fire involving approx. 80 large straw bales in a field. Crew used a water curtain, major jet and 45mm hose. A local farmer attended and used machinery to turn over the bales. Cause believed to be deliberate. **Incident remains open for revisit later today**

Fire - Dunslow Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 0306 hours

6 crews from Scarborough, Sherburn, Filey, Pickering and Robin Hoods Bay have been called to a fire in an industrial building measuring approx. 20m by 50m. The water bowser from Tadcaster, Command Unit from Northallerton and Welfare unit from Thirsk also attended. Incident is now being scaled down to 2 pumps and fire service will be attending for some time. Cause unknown at this time. Updates to follow.

Road traffic collision – A629 between Skipton & Bradley

Time of call: 0513 hours

A crew from Skipton has attended a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Fiat 500 which had collided with a sign and overturned, coming to rest on its roof. 1 female occupant was not trapped or injured but received a precautionary check up from Ambulance on scene. Crew moved vehicle from highway and dealt with a small fuel spillage. Crew used brush and 1 hose reel.

False alarm – Scalby Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 0654 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due accidental activation of a break glass point.
