Incident Summary – Night Shift Tuesday 8th October

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred.

False alarm – Stonegate, York

Time of call: 1729 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

 

False alarm – New Street, York

Time of call: 1800 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to testing of the system.

 

Small fire – Hopper Hill Road, Eastfield

Time of call: 1803 hours

A crew from Scarborough has dealt with a small fire in woodland. Crew used a backpack sprayer to extinguish. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 

False alarm – St Pauls Square, York

Time of call: 1806 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to accidental activation of a call point.

 

Property fire – Main Street, Kirkby Malzeard

Time of call: 2232 hours

Crews from Ripon and Masham have been called to a fire in a residential property. Resulted in fire damage to pan of food and smoke logging to property. 1 male led to safety and left in care of paramedics for slight smoke inhalation. Fire crew ventilated the property and used a door breaker to gain entry. The cause is believed to be accidental.

 

Assist Ambulance – Sheriff Hutton

Time of call: 2315 hours

A crew from Huntington has been called to assist ambulance crew to rescue an elderly male who had fallen in the bath. The male was left in care of paramedics. Fire ccrew used manpower only.

 

Gain entry – High Street, Knaresborough

Time of call: 0023 hours

A crew from Knaresborough have gained entry to a domestic property after the occupant became locked out due to a broken door mechanism. Crew used small tools.

 

False alarm – High Street, Harrogate

Time of call: 0054 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

 

False alarm – University Road, York

Time of call: 0106 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to aerosol spray.

 

Shed fire – off Ashlands Road, Northallerton

Time of call: 0514 hours

A crew from Northallerton have dealt with a shed fire at a domestic property. Wooden shed and contents of household items were totally destroyed by fire. Crew used 2 hosereel jets to extinguish. Cause believed to be accidental.

 

False alarm – Hull Road, York

Time of call: 0602 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
