Incident Summary Night Shift Wednesday 4th December 2019

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Huntington –Time of call 17:53

Crew from Huntington were mobilised to a report of a recycling bin on fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

 

Harrogate –Time of call 18:44

Crew from Harrogate were mobilised to a report of a fire in a garden of a residential property. This was a controlled burn, advice was given to the occupants.

 

Acomb –Time of call 20:26

Crew from Acomb were mobilised to a report of a bin on fire to the rear of a commercial property. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

 

Acomb –Time of call 00:59

Crew from Acomb assisted with the removal of a ring that was stuck on a 97 year old females finger. Crews used ring cutters to remove the ring.

 

Scarborough – Time of call 02:29

Crews from Scarborough and Filey have been called to a smell of smoke in a commercial property. Crew carried out a search and discovered a pile of staff clothing smouldering after being removed from a tumble dryer and placed on worktop. Resulted in fire damage to clothes, worktop and adjacent wall. Smoke damage to staff room. Crew used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel, positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal imagining camera. The cause is believed to be accidental.

 

Hawes – Time of call 05:23

Crew from Hawes responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

 

Great Ayton – Time of call 05:30

Crew from Stokesley responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to fumes from a kerosene boiler. Advice given.

 

York – Time of call 05:53

Crew from York responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
