Incident Summary Night Shift Thursday 7th December 2018

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

A64 Eastbound Bilbrough

Time of call: 17:57

Crews from Tadcaster have responded to reports of a four vehicle road traffic collision. On arrival crews found that no persons were trapped in any of the vehicles and our services were not required.

A crew from Grassington have responded to a call from the ambulance service for assistance in gaining entry to a residential property. On arrival, ambulance personnel had already gained entry.

Humanby, Filey

Time of call 18:27

A crew from Filey have responded to assist police with a chimney at risk of collapse on top of a residential property. Crews assisted with evacuation of properties and isolated gas, water and electrics. Crews left incident in hands of Police.

Broughton Road Skipton

Time of call 18:35

A crew from Skipton have gained access to a flat after the occupier was locked out. This was due to concerns that the oven was still left on inside the property. Crews used a triple extension ladder to gain access.

Beacon Drive, Scarborough

Time of call 18:43

Crews from Scarborough have extinguished a car well alight on a residential driveway. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

Queen Street, York

Time of call 20:08

Crews from Acomb and York have responded to reports of smoke within a commercial premise on Queen Street. Crews found one room fully smoke logged and investigated the cause using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera. Crews believe the smoke to be caused due to an electrical fault within a electrical unit inside.

Bishop Thornton

Crews from Harrogate have extricated one female from a two vehicle road traffic collision after her vehicle rolled onto its roof. Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment, small tools and lighting.

Beeches Close, Gargrave

Time of call 22:54

Crews from Skipton have responded to a smell of burning within a residential property. This was caused due to food left inside an oven. On arrival crews found ambulance crew already in attendance who removed the burnt food from the oven.
