A1 Northbound, Lemming Bar    Time 08:28

 

 

 

A two vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the A1 this morning. A car had collided with a heavy goods vehicle on the central reservation. When crews arrived, no persons were trapped or injured so they made the vehicles safe and assisted the Police. Crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough, Bedale and Thirsk assisted in this incident.

 

 

 

Market Place, Helmsley   Time 12:26

 

 

 

A crew from Kirbymoorside went to a property where an alarm was sounding. The crews arrived and discovered the alarm had been set off by steam leaking from a water pipe. The crews assisted in cleaning up the area once the plumber had arrived and left the incident with them.

 

 

 

Lower Ebor Street  Time 13:26

 

 

 

A crew from York attended a van that was on fire in a car park. The crews used hydraulic spreaders to open the van and extinguish the fire using their hose reel jet. The fire is believed to have started from an electrical fault in the cab of the van. The crews made the scene safe and left it for the Police to attend.

 

 

 

Oswaldkirk, Helmsley  Time 15:13

 

 

 

Crews from Helmsley attended a property with a chimney fire reported. When the crews arrived the chimney was well alight and they used a hose reel jet with a chimney adapter to extinguish the fire. This is incident is still ongoing with more details to follow.

 

 

 

Front Street, Sowerby  Time 15:21

 

 

 

A crew from Thirsk attended a property with a chimney fire reported. The fire was out on the arrival of the fire crews so they investigated the property. The fire is believed to be caused by a disused birds nest in the chimney. The crew removed the nest, cleaned out the chimney and gave advice to the occupier.
