Incident Summary Night Shift Friday 27th July 2018

28th July 2018

TOC 1737 – Gatherly Road, Brompton on swale

Crews received reports of a fire in the open in the Gatherly Road area. Upon arrival crews found the fire was an unsupervised controlled burn. Crews extinguished the fire.

TOC 1816 – Kings Staith, York

Calls were received regarding a fire alarm activation and a smell of smoke in a premises. Crews arrived and found that fumes from a heater unit. Crews isolated the heater unit.

TOC 1821 – Monks Cross Shopping Park, York

Crews attended a commercial premises reporting that part of the ceiling had collapsed and water was entering and affecting the electrics. Crews attended and water entering the building through a section roof. This was believed to have been caused by overflowing gutters. Crews isolated electrics and assisted staff with salvaging property.

TOC 1830 – Windmill Lane, York

Calls received that flood water were entering through the ceiling of a commercial property. Crews attended and found water had affected the electrics. Crews isolated electrics and gave advice on salvage and advised that the building power should be shut down and the building evacuated and closed due to extensive flooding.

TOC 1834 – High Petergate, York

Crews attended a commercial address which had reported that flooding had caused the fire alarm to sound. Crews inspected electrics and confirmed no fire.

TOC 1938 – A64, A19 flyover York

Whilst in transit from a closed incident, crews came across a driver stranded on the A64 with a broken down vehicle in a dangerous position. Crews stopped and provided scene safety until Police arrival.

TOC 1945 – B1249, Foxholes

Reports of a vehicle struck by a fallen tree were received and that 2 people were stuck in the vehicle. Upon arrival crews released both people from the car uninjured. The tree was then dismantled from top of the car. Both persons were left in the care of Police.

TOC 2002 – Shortbank Road, Skipton

Crews attended reports of a fire seen in the open. Upon arrival crews found a camp fire. The camp fire was extinguished and words of advice were given.

TOC 2102 – Masham Road, Bedale

Reports were received to a residential property on Masham Road. Crews attended and carried out an inspection no fire was found.

False alarms: Crews attended multiple false alarms throughout the course of the night’s duties.
