Incident Summary Day Shift Thursday 14th June 2018

14th June 2018


TOC 1020 – Northallerton Area


Crews were called to reports of a loose sign hanging from a building. Crews attended and removed the sign supports and made the sign safe.




TOC 1040 – York Area


Crews were called to reports of an unresponsive person locked in a room. Whilst making their way to the incident, the crews were cancelled and the person was reported safe and well.




TOC 1048 – Harrogate Area


Crews were called to reports of loose plastic sheeting on a scaffolding structure. Crews attended and found onsite construction staff securing the plastic sheeting and making safe. No action was taken by fire crews.




TOC 1147 – Summerbridge Area


Crews were called to reports of a vehicle fire on the road. On arrival found a van well alight. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and thermal imaging cameras. The fire was extinguished and the vehicle made safe. The cause of the fire was believed to be electrical fault.




TOC 1311 – Northallerton Area


Crews responded to reports of a vehicle leaking fuel. Upon arrival crews found a vehicle was leaking diesel. The owner of the vehicle was escorted to a garage and crews used equipment was used to clear and absorb the spill safely.




TOC 1356 – York Area


Fire service were called to reports of a chimney fire. Crews found the had been confined to the chimney flue and was already out on arrival. Advice was given on scene and not further action was taken.  




TOC 1432 – Scarborough Area


Crews were requested to assist a member of the community with limited mobility, to gain access to their flat. Crews assisted and the person was helped to their property safely.




TOC  1542 – Selby Area


Crews were called to a fire reported in the open. Upon arrival, crews found a bush and some dry grass measuring 2 metres square were on fire. The fire was extinguished and dampened down. The cause was believed to be a dropped light.




TOC 1541 – Skipton Area


Crews were called to a fire behind a residence, in a garden. Crews arrived and found a supervised controlled burn that had spread to a conservatory. Crews brought the fire under control. Crews are still in attendance at this incident.

Crews attended multiple throughout the course of the day’s duties.
