Incident Summary Day Shift Tuesday 16th July 2019

15th July 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred.

Time 0922    Location: Bachelor Hill, York

A crew from Acomb were called to a report of a dog locked inside a car outside of the owner’s property. Crews gained access to the house via the first floor window but were unable to locate spare key. Owner now has access to property to locate spare key. Incident let with owner.

Time 0959    Location: Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate were called to assist with gaining access to a property where an elderly lady had fallen. Crews used a door enforcer to gain access and left the lady in care of the Ambulance Service.

Time 1232 Location: B6265 Studley Roger

Two crews from Ripon and an Officer were called to a digger on fire. This was caused by an accumulation of straw in the engine compartment and caused 100% fire damage to digger. Crews extinguished this using 2 sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and two foam extinguishers.

 Time 1502 Location: Lawrence Street, York

A crew from York came across a road traffic collision between a bike and a car. A male cyclist was given first aid by Fire crews and taken to hospital via road ambulance.

Time 1505    Location: Albermarle Drive, Catterick Garrison

Crews from Catterick and Richmond were called to a garden fence on fire. This was believed to have been deliberate and was extinguished using a hose reel jet.

Time 1530    Location: A65, Settle

A crew from Settle and an Officer were called to a fire to a railway embankment. This measured 5 x 25 m and was extinguished using backpacks, beaters and hose reel jet.


In addition to the above incidents our crews attended automatic fire alarm activations in York,.  All were false alarms.
