Incident Summary Night Shift Saturday 4th  August  2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

Skeldergate Bridge, York Time of call: 18:45


Crews from York have assisted York Rescue Boat in responding to reports of three people in the River Ouse. Crews mobilised the service’s water rescue boat but thankfully all three people were able to self rescue out of the river safe.

Flaxley Road, Selby Time of call: 19:12


Crews from Selby have attended a large field on fire after it had caught alight following a fire to a bailer and tractor. Approximately 100 square metres of stubble field was damaged as well as 100% fire damage to both the bailer and tractor. Crews used two breathing apparatus, four hose reel jets and four beaters.

Arbour Way, Norton Time of call: 21:20


A crew from Malton have attended reports of a fire in a rear garden. On arrival this was controlled burning and crews gave advice.

Crews from Northallerton and Bedale have responded to reports of a possible fire within a flat. Crews gained access to the property via a triple extension ladder and found a candle that was left unattended.

Ings Lane, Pickering Time of call: 22:05


Crews from Pickering have investigated reports of a fire in the open around the Kirkby Misperton area. Crews found one fire which was controlled burning and gave advice to the occupiers.

Whitby Road, Pickering Time of call: 01:09


Crews from Pickering have attended reports of a three vehicle road traffic collision. On arrival crews found no persons trapped due to the driver of a Volkswagen colliding with two parked vehicles. The driver had fled the scene and crews made one of the parked vehicles safe after it had started to leak fuel.

A162, Towton   **Incident still ongoing** Time of call: 02:43


Crews from Tadcaster are currently in attendance at a hay stack fire. Approximately  30 metres by 10 metres of hay bales are alight and crews are dampening down surrounding areas to prevent further fire spread. Crews are using a hose reel jet and beaters.
