Incident Summary Night Shift Saturday 17th  November

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

Scurragh Lane, Skeeby Time of call 18:48

A crew from Richmond have attended reports of a fire near to a farm. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning.

Woodlea Avenue, York Time of call 20:56

Crews from Acomb have attended reports of a tumble dryer on fire within a two storey residential property. The fire was out on arrival and crews removed the tumble dryer out into the garden. Crews inspected the dryer and gave advice to the owner.

Moor Lane, Haxby Time of Call 00:45

Crews from Huntington and York have attended reports of a fire within a three storey residential property. The fire was confined to a ground floor laundry room causing 100% fire damage to the contents of the room and approx. 400 metres squared of smoke damage over two floors. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, thermal imaging camera, positive pressure ventilation and a door enforcer.

The cause of the fire is under investigation

A crew from Stokesley are currently investigating a smouldering tree in Cliff Ridge Wood.
