17:39 Wetherby Road, Knaresborough

Knaresborough and Harrogate crew were called to reports of a building on fire. Upon attending this was found to be the controlled burning of 2 old structures and wooden pallets. Crews gave advice and left the fire to burn under supervision.

17:59 Kirkby Mills, Kirkbymoorside

Fire crews form Kirkbymoorside and Pickering attended a property where the occupiers were concerned for a number of scorch/burn marks that have been appearing on the window frames. After a thorough inspection fire crews identified the cause to be the sunlight reflecting off a mirror and onto the window frames. Advice given to occupiers and no equipment used by fire crews.

19:22 Threshfield, Skipton

Fire crews from Grassington were called out to reports of a tree on fire near a caravan park. After investigation, crews found this to be an organised bonfire and left the incident in the hands of responsible persons running the bonfire with advice given by crews.

19:39 Shipton By Benningbrough

Huntington crew attended reports of a hedge on fire in the rear garden of a property. Upon arrival the occupiers had tackled the fire with a garden hose. Crews inspected the area and the cause was believed to have been due to a fire work.

19:44 Bishop Monkton, Ripon

A crew from Ripon attended a property for a chimney fire. Crews extinguished the fire in the hearth and tackled the chimney fire using a hose reel and chimney adapter along with the hearth kit. They also used the thermal imaging camera to inspect the chimney breast and roof space. The cause of the fire was believed to be due to an accumulation of soot.

00:04 Ilton, Ripon

Masham crew were called to reports of a chimney fire at a property in Ilton. Crews worked for a number of hours to extinguish the fire by fighting it from both the hearth and roof level. The cause was believed to be due to an accumulation of soot. Crews used a hose reel with chimney adapters, breathing apparatus, small tools and a thermal imaging camera.


Fire crews from across the county have also attended a number of automatic fire alarms throughout the night.
