Incident Summary, Day Shift Thursday 5th December 2019

Time: 07:55

Location: Lowther Street, York

York crew were called this morning to reports of a leak in a property where water was coming through the ceiling. As the water was affecting the electrics our fire crew were able to isolate the leak and make a temporary repair until engineers could attend.

Time: 13:07

Location: Off Firthland Road, Pickering

Fire crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside were mobilised to reports of a garage on fire at a property. The incident involved a tumble dryer which is believed to have overheated and was destroyed by fire along with the contents of the garage. The fire was out upon our arrival after locals assisted. Fire crews checked for any fire spread and inspected using a thermal imaging camera and 1 hose reel for damping down.

A number of crews have also attended automatic fire alarms that have been triggered throughout the day, all of which resulted in being false alarms for a variety of reasons.
