Budget Consultation

At its meeting on 19^th February 2016, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority (The Authority) will be considering a detailed report setting out a proposed budget for 2016/2017.

Depending upon information yet to be received from Central Government, the Authority will be considering an increase in Council Tax of up to 1.99%. The table below shows how that would affect your household.

Ian Young Director of Finance and Technical Services said:  “Although the Authority continues to make savings, some £900,000 for next year, and we have yet to receive final numbers from Central Government on reductions in Government financial support, the Authority cannot rule out seeking an increase in Council Tax. We would welcome comments from members of the public on the Budget report and what level of council tax increase they would be prepared to support. The feedback we receive will assist the Authority when it considers the final budget report at its meeting in February.”
