Grade 2 - £15,807.00 to £16,491.00 per annum based on 37 hours per week

Applications are invited for the post of Transport and Logistics Support Assistant based at the Transport and Logistics Hub, Thirsk.

The role requires the post holder to deliver and collect Fire Appliances and other vehicles including the transfer of equipment and ladders throughout the county of North Yorkshire and to assist other staff in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment whilst maintaining a clean and safe environment within the workshop.

It is an essential requirement of the role that you hold a full driving licence including LGV Category ‘C’.  You must be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and, in addition, you will have a good knowledge of health and safety practice and guidance. The ability to communicate effectively to a varied audience both within and outside the Service is also an essential requirement.

The successful candidates will be required to undertake a security and vetting clearance due to the location of the role.

The post is conditioned to the Scheme of Conditions of Service for NJC Local Government Services.  Benefits include 24 days’ annual leave (29 days after 5 years’ continuous service), Local Government Pension Scheme and optional additional benefits. The successful applicant will be entitled to become a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
