Incident Crossfield Crescent, York

Crews have been cooling the cylinder which was in the garden of a property. They will remain at the scene for some time to carry out monitoring.

The nearby residents who were evacuated are being allowed to re-enter their homes with safety precautions in place.

We were called at approximately 12 noon today to an incident on Crossfield Crescent in York.

A number of fire engines and officers are currently in attendance. Due to reports that cylinders are involved, a safety cordon has been established and a number of nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution.

Crews are expected to remain at the scene for some time. Please avoid the area.
