Incident Summary – Night Shift 14th September

Time: 17.21   Location:  Richmond

A crew from Richmond responded to a report of a child who had locked their parent out of the house.  Crews used crew power only to access the property and reunite the parent and child.

Time: 18.18   Location: York

Acomb crews responded to a three vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out of the vehicles on arrival of the crews. Crews relocated the vehicles to a safe space at the side of the road and left the incident in the hands of the Police.

Time: 18.25  Location:  A64, Bishopthorpe

Crews from York, Huntington and Tadcaster responded to reports of a fire to a vehicle in a layby.  Crews used Breathing Apparatus for respiratory protection, 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area.

Time: 20.04  Location:  Throxenby, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a fire in a wooded area.  This was found to be a controlled burn under supervision.  Crews gave advice.

Time: 20.11  Location: A64, High Hutton

A crew from Malton responded to a report of a car smoking on the side of the road.. On arrival of the crews the vehicle was well alight.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area.

Time: 21.58   Location: Harrogate

Harrogate crew responded to assist gaining entry to a property due to concerns for an individual inside. On arrival police had already gained entry. The individual was left in the care of family and police on scene.

Time: 23.18   Location: James Street, York

Crews from York and Acomb responded to smoke issuing out of a boiler house. Crews deployed 2 breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to investigate. Once the fire was located crews used a main jet to extinguish and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke.

Crews from York, Whitby and Harrogate (X2) also attended automatic fire alarm activations.  After inspection these were found to be false alarms.
