Jonathan began his firefighting career with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service in 1999 and joined North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service in 2020 as Director of Assurance, where he led organisational change. After serving as Interim Deputy Chief Fire Officer in 2021, he was appointed Chief Fire Officer in 2022. In addition to leading the Service, Jonathan chairs the National Fire Chiefs Council Digital, Data, and Technology Committee and co-chairs the Fire Central and Local Government Information Partnership.

Garry joined the Service in 2026 after a 24-year career in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service where he was the Head of Operations from 2022 until making the move to North Yorkshire. Prior to fulfilling that role, he had been a Local Senior Officer, Lead for a National Project on Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest and Emergency Medical Response and was also the senior Instructor at the Scottish Fire Service College. As the Strategic Lead for the Women’s Network, Garry also is keen to champion the voice, opportunity and talent of women in our Service.

Damian started his fire service career in South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service in 2000. During his career he has worked within operational support, writing policies and as an instructor and senior instructor within training.

Prior to joining North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service in 2023, he spent over three years as Chief of Staff within His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).

Tom joined the fire & rescue service in 2002. In the early days of his career, he worked in both Service Delivery and Training. Some memorable moments for him include being the initial Incident Commander at Fishlake floods also commanding one of the country’s largest moorland fires at Hatfield Moor. This is where he first met crews from North Yorkshire and it was their helpful nature and positivity that led him to apply for the Group Manager Role in North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.  He joined North Yorkshire in August 2020 where he has been lucky enough to work in Service Delivery, Prevention & Protection and Response & Resilience.

He is very proud to work for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and is looking forward to working collectively to make the Service a great place to work that meets the ever changing community needs of North Yorkshire.

Ben spent the first 10 years of his fire service career with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

In 2017 He was seconded to His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) where he had the opportunity to inspect 19 Fire and Rescue Services. Following his secondment, he joined Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service in 2019 before joining North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service as an Area Manager in 2023. Ben has led the Emergency Response and Training directorate for three years, achieving a much improved  ‘Good’ rating with HMICFRS in 2025 for both areas.

Lisa was appointed Assistant Chief Officer in June 2023 and is responsible for the support services (ICT, Finance, Payroll and Procurement, People Services, Estates and Transport & Logistics) for both North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. Lisa is also the senior member of Staff for both organisations.

Born in Scarborough, Lisa read Business and Management at Hull University, graduating in 2002 with a 1st class honours degree. Joining the Ministry of Defence in 2003, Lisa began her career as a Commercial Officer responsible for various large-scale Defence procurement contracts. Diversifying her career, Lisa carried out roles in finance, programme and project management, as a Chief of Staff for the MOD’s global logistics and support function and Private Secretary to the Chief Operating Officer.

Passionate about supporting women into leadership roles, Lisa also coaches and mentors those from a lower socio-economic background into a career of public service. As a Diversity & Inclusion advocate, ensuring everyone can bring their whole self to work is of particular importance to her.

Lisa also holds a Masters in Procurement, has completed both the Future Leaders Scheme and Senior Leaders Scheme for high potential Civil Servants in government and holds the Certificate in Company Directorship from the Institute of Directors.

Lisa is married to Peter and they have a two-year-old son who keeps them both on their toes. They enjoy spending time outdoors in the great Yorkshire Dales.

Charlie joined North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service as Director of Service Design and Delivery in December 2023. During her career she has worked in service delivery, transformation and organisational design across the third and public sectors, with over 10 years spent working with emergency services in North Yorkshire.
