Incident Summary – Night Shift, Christmas Day 2025
Time: 18.32 Location: Ryngwoode Drive, Malton
A Crew from Malton responded to a request from Ambulance for assistance to lift a casualty who had hurt their foot and fallen. Crews used crew power to lift the casualty.
Time: 19.30 Location: Commercial Street, Tadcaster
Crews from Tadcaster responded to a report of a fire in the open that was believed to be deliberately started. On arrival of the crews a fire to a pile of rubbish was found in a shed. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Time: 20.13 Location: Thorpe Green Lane, Thorpe Underwood
A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a person who had fallen inside their property and were unable to get up. Crews used crew power to assist the person and left them in the hands of a family member while awaiting Ambulance for precautionary checks.
Time: 21.15 Location: Kirk Lane, Embsay
A Crew from Skipton responded to a report of a fire to a chimney of a residential property. On arrival of the crews the fire had been extinguished by the resident. Crews fully checked internally and externally to ensure the fire was out using a thermal imaging camera. The cause was believed to be a build up of soot in the chimney.
Time: 04.27 Location: Main Street, Seamer
Crews from Scarborough and Filey responded to a report of a fire seen through a property window. On arrival of the crews this was found to be a false alarm due to a battery operated tea light.
Time: 04.48 Location: Kent Road, Harrogate
A crew from Harrogate responded to a request from Ambulance to gain entry to a property due to concerns for the occupant inside. Crews used small tools to access the premises and left the casualty in the care of the Ambulance Service.
Time: 06.16 Location: Hull Road, Kexby
Crews from York, Acomb and Pocklington (Humberside FRS) responded to a report of a fire in a residential address. The fire, which involved a toaster was out on arrival of the crews. Advice was given.
Crews from York, Selby, Scarborough and Masham also attended automatic fire alarm activations. These were investigated and found to be false alarms.
