Incident Summary – Monday 29th December Night Shift

19:44 – Hillam

A crew from Selby responded to a report of a fire in the open at an unspecified location. The crew conducted a thorough investigation of the area and found no fire. This was a false alarm with good intent.

20:04 – Staxton, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough attended a chimney fire. They used a triple extension ladder, a roof ladder, chimney rods and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. They then installed smoke alarms in the property and gave home fire safety advice to the occupant.

20:56 – Acomb

A crew from Acomb responded to a report of youths setting a fire deliberately in the area. Youths seen taking wood and cardboard into field and trying to light it. They then fled the area when challenged by member of public. Details passed to Police.

21:07 – Leyburn

A crew from Richmond attended an address in Leyburn to assist Police with gaining entry. Crews used a door enforcer and left the incident with Police and Ambulance.

06:01 – Carlton Miniott, Thirsk

A crew from Thirsk assisted Ambulance with gaining access to a property. They used a keysafe to unlock the door and left a person inside in the care of the paramedics.
