Incident Summary – Day Shift – Saturday 3rd January
08:33 – High Street, Great Broughton
Stokesley’s crew were mobilised to a residential property due to a kitten becoming stuck inside a hole in a kitchen cupboard. Crews used small tools and crew power to free him and Fergus the cat was reunited with his owner.
08:38 – High Street, Northallerton
Northallerton’s crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial property. After investigation this was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the fire panel.
11:35 – Sandsend, Whitby
Whitby’s crew attended an incident involving a vehicle that had slid down an embankment. All persons were safely out of the car. Crews were able to secure the vehicle using 15 and 30 metre and left the incident with the recovery company.
12:10 – Park Hall Lane, Low Row
Crews from Reeth were mobilised to an incident involving a camper van that had skidded over a single track road, causing it to be blocked. Crews used winch and strops to move the vehicle to a safe location and left in the care of the owner to await a recovery vehicle.
12:18 – Farm Mews, Skipwith
Selby’s crew was mobilised to an incident involving an outside waste bin that had caught fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet, 1 breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
12:28 – Ainthorpe, Whitby
Danby’s crew were requested by police to attend a single vehicle road traffic to assist with scene safety. On crews arrival no action was needed due to the vehicle not blocking the carriageway.

Acomb and Harrogate crews were mobilised to an incident involving a casualty trapped in their vehicle after a road traffic collision. Crews were able to gain access to the casualty by using packex and a window punch. The casualty was moved to a road ambulance and the incident was left with paramedics.
15:42 – High Street, Harrogate
Harrogate’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property . After an inspection this was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
16:14 – Commercial Street, Tadcaster
Tadcaster’s crew were mobilised to a small fire in the open that was made up of household items and aerosols. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish.
