Incident Summary –Night Shift, Friday 2nd January

Time:  17.01  Location:  Poplars Lane, West Knapton

A Crew from Malton responded to a report of a fire seen in the open in this area.  On arrival of the crews this was found to be a bonfire measuring approx 10m x 20m that had been left unattended.  On arrival of the responsible person advice was given.

Time:  18.30  Location: Birch View, Pickering

Crew from Malton responded to a report of flooding to a property due to a toilet overflowing.  On arrival of the crews no flooding was found as occupier was attempting to stop the flooding using the cistern.  Crews isolated the water to the property and gave advice.

Time: 19.37   Location: Court Green Close, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough responded to a request to assist ambulance with moving a casualty.

Time:  19.51  Location: Felixkirk Road, Thirsk

A crew from Thirsk responded to a report of a diesel fuel 4×4 vehicle that had caught fire.  On arrival of the crews the vehicle was well alight.  Crews used 2 Breathing Apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

A crew from Malton responded to a report of a domestic premises which was found to have had the gas hob left on slightly while the occupiers had been away. The premises had been naturally ventilated prior to the arrival of the crews. Crews used a gas detector to monitor the gas levels and gave advice to continually naturally ventilate the property.

Crew from Bedale responded to assist ambulance colleagues gain entry to a premises due to concerns for the occupant. Crews gained entry using a door enforcer. Occupant was found to be safe and well. They were left in care of paramedics.

Time: 23:42   Location: Seamer Road, Scarborough

Crew from Scarborough assisted paramedics with a difficult extrication of a casualty from a property. Crew power used to lift stretcher from house and transported to waiting ambulance.

Time: 01:53   Location: Albemarle Crescent, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough gained access into a property on behalf of paramedics on scene. Crew power was used and the occupant was left in care of Ambulance.

Time: 04.59   Location: Constantine Avenue, York

Crews from Acomb and York responded to a report of a fire to a fireplace in a residential property that was issuing smoke into the building.  On arrival the crews found a fire to a wooden lintel which had been caused by radiated heat from the coal fire.  Crews used small tools to remove the lintel and gave advice to the occupiers.

 

Crews from Scarborough, Richmond, Robin Hoods Bay, York and Harrogate also attended automatic fire alarm activations. These were found to be false alarms.
