Incident Summary – Monday Dayshift – 5th January 2026
Time: 10:46 Location: Jack Lane, Wigglesworth
Crews from Skipton and Bentham alongside an appliance from Lancashire fire and rescue service responded to a toilet block measuring approximately 2m x 4m that was on fire. Crews extinguished the fire using 2 hose reel jets, 2 breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera. There was 100% fire damage to the building.

A crew from Richmond used crew power to assist Ambulance with a difficult extrication of a casualty from a residential property.
Time: 11:39 Location: Station Road, Scruton
Both crews from Northallerton responded to a property where there had been a minor fire confined to a hob after an external gas bottle located outside was being changed, causing a small ignition inside the kitchen. Crews isolated the cylinder and carried out an inspection in the property with no traces of a gas leak being found.
Time: 12:30 Location: Burlands Lane, Upper Poppleton, York
A crew from Acomb responded to reports of a fire sighted in the open. On arrival this was confirmed to be a controlled burn under supervision. Advice was given.

Crews from Malton and York responded to a report of a vehicle on fire. After a search of all roads around the area no fire was found.
Time: 14:14 Location: Kirkgate, Tadcaster
When out mobile a crew from Tadcaster came across a person who had fallen. Crews gave immediate first aid until the arrival of the paramedics.
Time: 15:49 Location: Harrogate Fire Station
Crew from Harrogate removed 3 rings from a persons finger who self presented at the fire station.
Time: 16:03 Location: Milford Road, South Milford
A crew from Tadcaster responded to a report of a fire in the open. This was found to be a small camp fire containing wood and shrubbery and was out on arrival of crews.
Time: 16:40 Location: Long Lane, Great Barugh
Crews from Malton and Pickering responded to reports of a fire sighted in the open. On arrival this was confirmed to be a controlled burn under supervision. Advice given.
Crews from Malton, Scarborough, Filey, Pickering, Skipton, Selby (x2), York attended fire alarm activations. After investigation these were all confirmed to be false alarms.
