Incident Summary – 5th January – Night Shift
18:42 – Upper Poppleton, York
Acomb’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving an unattended bonfire in a field. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and revisited the scene later in the evening to ensure no further risk.
18:44 – Melrose Gate, York
York’s crew went to an incident involving a fire in the open. On crews arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to a controlled burn. Crews gave advice and left the fire with a responsible person.
19:03 – Regency Mews, York
A crew from York attended an incident involving an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential property. After inspection this was found to be a false alarm.
21:17 – Malpas Road, Northallerton
Northallerton’s crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential property. This was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
21:45 – Cold Bath Road, Harrogate
Harrogate’s crew attended an incident involving persons potentially trapped in a lift. Once access was gained into the lift, it was found that there was no one trapped inside. The broken lift was left in the hands of a lift engineer.
23:14 – Fox Covet, York
A crew from York attended an incident involving previous flooding in a residential property. Crews checked both water and electrics to ensure there were no potential risks and left the incident in the hands of the occupier.
01:16 – Wheelgate, Malton
Malton’s crew were mobilised to a potential fire at a commercial building. This was found to be a false alarm due to steam from a nearby vent.
01:58 Low Wath Road, Pateley Bridge
Summerbridge crews responded to a smoke alarm activation at a school. Crews investigated and confirmed this was a false alarm believed to caused by a fault.
04:14 Howard Street, Scarborough
Scarborough crews were requested by Ambulance Service to assist them with an incident believed to involve gas being turned on and left for sometime. However on arrival crew confirmed gas had been isolated and Fire Service assistance was not required.
