Incident Summary – 6th January – Night Shift

17:17 – Long Street, Topcliffe

Thirsk’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving an electric car with two people trapped inside. Crews used crew power to pry open the door and get the spare key from the driver which they then used to unlock and release the two trapped individuals.

18:40 – Larpool Lane, Whitby

A crew from Whitby attended an incident involving a person trapped within a lift at a residential property. Crews were able to make contact with the individual in order to reassure them whilst they waited for the lift engineer. Once the lift was isolated crews were able to release the individual.

20:05 – Mill Lane Track, Scruton

Crews from Bedale and Northallerton were mobilised to a potential fire at a commercial property. Upon crews arrivals this was found to be a false alarm due to a controlled burn in the area.

21:38 – Saunters Way, Riccall

A Selby crew attended an incident involving flooding in a residential property. Crews used small tools and a lock snapper to gain access to the property. Crews were able to isolate both the water and electrics.

23:02 – North Marine Road, Scarborough

Scarborough’s crew attended an incident involving flooding outside a residential property due to a blocked drain. Crews used a ceiling hook to unblock the drain and the water subsided.

23:10 – Havikil Park, Scotton

Knaresborough’s crew were mobilised to a residential property due to a person being trapped within their bathroom. Crews used small tools to release them.

04:56 – Ammonite Grove, Whitby

A crew from Whitby were requested to assist with Ambulance who were struggling to get one of their vehicles over ice. Crews helped move a patient from the stranded vehicle into another waiting road ambulance. The person was then transported to hospital.

06:15 – Long Street, Thirsk

A crew from Northallerton responded to an address suffering from flooding within the premises. This incident is currently ongoing with the crew attempting to isolate the leak.

Crews from Scarborough, Bedale, York, Thirsk, Skipton and Helmsley were mobilised to incidents involving fire alarms sounding across the county. After investigating, these were all found to be false alarms.
