Incident Summary – Wednesday 7th January 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 07.38   Location: Newby, Scarborough

Scarborough crew responded to assist paramedics extricate a patient, as the ambulance could not get close to the property due to icy conditions. Crews safely lifted the patient using a stretcher into the ambulance and left them in the care of the paramedics.

Time: 11.41   Location: Harewood Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crews responded to two children locked in a room after the door lock mechanism failed, crews used small tools to gain entry to the room and reunited them with the parent. No injuries were sustained and advice was given.

Time: 16:36     Location: New Queen Street, Scarborough

Crews from Scarbrough and Filey responded to an electrical box in the ground floor of a residential building out on arrival. Crews wearing breathing apparatus equipment entered the building with a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to check for any further fire spread. After investigation, the fire was contained to the electrical box only. This incident is still on going and a fire investigation will be carried out.

 

Crews from Acomb (x3), Malton, Scarborough and York responded to automatic fire alarm activations, after crews investigated these were found to be false alarms and advice was given to the responsible person.
