Incident Summary – Thursday 12th March 2026 – Day Shift

Northallerton crews responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision, one individual was trapped in a vehicle, crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to create enough space for the individual to get out, crews assisted the individual out of the vehicle and walked them to the ambulance for further checks. Incident was left in the hands of the police.
Time: 10.53 Location: A171, Fylingdales
A crew from Whitby responded to a report of smoke seen coming from the moor. After inspection this was found to be ash that was blowing about from the previous moor fire in the area.
Time: 12.29 Location: Piercy End, Kirkbymoorside
A crew from Helmsley responded to a report of a vehicle which had overturned and leaking fuel onto the road. Crews used spill kit to soak up the fluid.
Time: 12.37 Location: Adelaide Street, York
Crews from Acomb responded to a report of some felt that had come loose from a roof becoming dangerous. Crews used a reciprocating saw to remove the felt and made the scene safe.
Time: 12.48 Location: Knaresborough Road, Ripon
Crews from Ripon, Harrogate and Tadcaster responded to a report of a fire to a barn containing straw bales. Crews are still in attendance at the time of publishing.

A crew from Whitby responded to a report of a bin on fire. On arrival crews found the bin smoldering and extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet.
Time: 12.59 Location: Risedale Drive, York
A crew from York responded to a report of a person who had become stuck in a bedroom due to the door lock mechanism failing. Crews used small tools to release the person from the room.
Time: 13.02 Location: Esplanade, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a dangerous garage door on a derelict property. Crews secured the door with a baton and made the area safe. The occupants of the neighbouring property left to contact the building owners.
Time: 13.49 Location: Town Street, Settrington
A Crew from Malton responded to a report of a fire to a metal chimney in the kitchen of a property. The fire was contained to the hearth and crews extinguished the fire using chimney kit.
Time: 14.09 Location: Overton Road, Overton
A crew from York responded to a report of a re-ignition of a manure heap that was an incident from earlier in the week due to the strong winds.
Time: 14.25 Location: Main Street, Fulford
An officer and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Acomb attended a report of tiles falling from a roof in strong winds. Crews removed the loose tiles and deemed the rest of the roof safe.
Time: 15.31 Location: B1416 Junction with A171
Police requested assistance with scene safety following a road traffic collision where part of a vehicle was flapping dangerously in the wind. Crews made the vehicle safe and disconnected the battery.
Time: 15.45 Location: Scalby Road, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a request from Police to gain entry to a premises for Ambulance due to concerns for the occupant inside. On arrival of the crews the occupant was outside the property and no Fire Service action was necessary.
Time: 16.30 Location: Sedbusk to Appersett, Hardraw
Crews from Hawes, Reeth, Richmond, Skipton and Sedbergh responded to a report of a vehicle that was stuck in fast flowing flood water. The vehicle occupant received water survival guidance until crews with water rescued the occupant.

Crews from Acomb, Knaresborough, Thirsk, and Tadcaster alongside the ariel ladder platform responded to reports of a kerosene tank on fire in a storage shed measuring approximately 25m by 15m. This incident is currently ongoing.
Time: 17:09 Location: Briercliffe, Scarborough
Crews from Scarborough responded to reports of 2 persons on the roof. This incident is currently ongoing.
Crews from Skipton also attended reports of automatic fire alarm activations. After inspection these were found to be false alarms.
