Incident Summary – Day Shift – Friday 26th June

Time: 08:50     Location: Whitby 

Whitby crew attended flooding in a property. On arrival flooding had subsided and no further action was required by crews. Left in the responsibility of he property owner.

Time:  08:56     Location: Whitby 

Lythe crew attended flooding inside a premises. Crews were able to stop the build up of water by unblocking the nearby drain and cleared the remaining flood water from the premises. Incident left in the responsibility of the premises owner.

Time: 09:09      Location: Sandsend

Robin Hoods Bay Crew attended a report of flooding inside a premises. Water levels quickly returned back to normal and no further action was required by Fire Service.

Time: 09:23    Location: Whitby 

Robin Hoods Bay Crews were mobilised to a flooding inside a premises. Flooded subsided on arrival, crews isolated electrical vehicle on the driveway and advice given to homeowner.

Time:  09:50    Location: Filey 

Filey Crew were mobilised to flooding inside a commercial premises. Crews used an ejector pump to clear the flood water that was approximately 8 inches deep. Left with the responsible person on site.

Time:  12:11     Location: York

York Crew were mobilised to a HGV vehicle that had collided with a bridge. On arrival there was no further assistance needed from the fire crews and left in the responsibly of the recovery team and Police.

Time: 12:24     Location: Skipton 

Skipton Crews attended a fire in the open. Crews searched the area and it was found to be a false alarm.

Time: 13:01     Location:  Newbridge 

Pickering Crew were mobilised to attended a quad on fire. Crews used one hose reel jet, thermal imaging Camera and respirator masks to extinguish the fire. Incident was left in the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Time: 13:30      Location: Harrogate

Harrogate Crews were mobilised to persons trapped in a lift. Crews used small tools to extricate the casualties.

Time: 13:58      Location: South Kilvington 

Northallerton and Ripon Crews were mobilised to a van on fire on the A19. 2 hose reel jets and 2 breathing apparatus used to extinguish. Police and Highways were in attendance. Fire extinguished and left in the responsibility of Highways.

Time: 14:08  Location: York

Crew from York and Acomb responded to a report of burning smell from a residential premises. Crews confirmed there to be no smoke or fire and this was a false alarm.

Time: 14:42      Location: Scarborough 

Filey and Scarborough Crews attended a persons trapped in lift at a residential property. Crews Used lift keys to release persons trapped.

Time: 16:16     Location: Marrick

Crews from Richmond and Reeth responded to a report of a chimney that had been struck by lightning. This caused the chimney to fill with smoke and filled the residential property with smoke as a result. Crews used two breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet, premises taped off for safety precautions. Incident left with homeowner.

Crew from Knaresborough responded to a report of a vehicle fire, crews carried out a thorough area search but were unable to locate any fire in the area.

 

Crews from York, Whitby, Selby (x2), Harrogate (x2) attended reports of automatic fire alarms, these were confirmed to be false alarms.
