Time:  07:27  Location: Chain Lane, Knaresborough

Knaresborough released a young person who had become trapped inside the bathroom of a property after a failed door mechanism and handle. Crews used small tools to release the young person safely who was then left in the care of their parents.

Time:  08:23  Location: Birstwith

Harrogate responded to reports of a vehicle on fire. On arrival crews found no immediate signs of fire. Crews investigated the engine using a thermal imaging camera and found no signs of fire damage. This was a false alarm with good intent and advice has been given to the driver to seek advice from a mechanic.

Time:  09:39  Location: High Street, Northallerton

Northallerton responded to smoke coming from an open window on the top floor of a two storey building. Crews arrived and found a tea towel which had been left unattended on a hob which had caught fire but was out on their arrival. No fire spread to the kitchen was confirmed and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the room of smoke. Advice was given to the responsible person.

Thirsk responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. No signs of smoke or fire was located in the area affected on the system. Advice was given to onsite staff and this was confirmed as a false alarm.

York rescued a bird trapped in the TV Ariel on top of a property. Crews used a 9 metre ladder and roof ladder to remove the bird safely and left them in the hands of a responsible person who will take it to a local vets.

Time: 10:59   Location: Bishopthorpe Road, York

Tadcaster and Acomb mobilised to a toaster fire inside a residential property. The fire was out on arrival with no fire spread confirmed. Crews ventilated the property and gave advice to the occupant.

Time: 11:04   Location: Starbeck, Harrogate

Harrogate responded to an alarm activation inside a residential building. This was caused by dust within an area of the building. Advice was given to the responsible person and this was confirmed as a false alarm.

Time:  11:17  Location: Chaloners Road, York

Acomb assisted carers with releasing a person stuck in a chair within their flat. Crew power was used to move them to a safe position and left them in the care of carers.

Time:  14:53  Location: Bridge Street, Bedale

Richmond and Colburn were requested to assist with a vehicle that had impacted a building. No persons were trapped on arrival and no fire service action was required after inspection. Ambulance crews had taken the driver to hospital for precautionary reasons and police were dealing with the recovery of the vehicle.

Scarborough responded to a overheated tumble dryer inside a domestic property. Crews removed the dryer from the building. Crews gave advice to the occupants who were all out on arrival.
