Incident Summary – 16th July – Night Shift

18:22 – Woodfield Square, Harrogate

Harrogate’s first appliance were mobilised to reports of a small fire in the rear garden of a residential property. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish.

19:17 – James Backhouse Place, York

Acomb’s crew responded to a fire in a wooded area that had been lit deliberately. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish and the incident was left with police.

19:19 – Woodburn Drive, Leyburn

Leyburn’s appliance was requested by ambulance to assist with the difficult extrication of a casualty from their property. Crews used crew power to transport them into the road ambulance and they were taken to hospital.

19:29 – Dishforth

Thirsk’s pump was mobilised to reports of a car fire. Crews used one hose reel jet alongside one breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. A thermal imagining camera was used to check for remaining hotspots. The incident was left with occupants and police.

19:31 – Hob Moor Drive, York

York’s appliance responded to an attempted deliberate fire to gorse bushes in a wooded area. Crews checked for hotspots using one thermal imaging camera however no fire fighting action taken.

21:02 – Danum Drive, York

A crew from York responded to a potential residential property fire due to a smoking fridge. On crews arrival, the smoke had subsided however a strong burning smell was present. Crews isolated the fridge and used crew power to remove it from the property, advice was given to the occupier.

21:04 – Bracken Road, York

Acomb’s retained crew were mobilised to a BBQ that had been lit on dry grass. On crews arrival the BBQ had been extinguished, advice was given to responsible people.

06:41 – Chalk Hill Drive, Knaresborough

Harrogate’s crew are proceeding to Knaresborough to investigate a fire alarm sounding at a domestic property. This incident is ongoing.

Crews from Easingwold (X2) and Northallerton attended automatic fire alarms through the night. These were found to be false alarms.
